Tikkl allows you to create promo codes that offer discounts during checkout. These discounts can be applied either to the entire transaction or to specific ticket types, and can be configured as fixed amounts or percentage-based.
You can also create multi-use promo codes or single-use codes that are unique to each user.
Follow the steps below to create and manage promo codes.
Where to create Promo Codes
Go to your Org Admin Panel.
Open Manage Event Campaign for your event.
Click the Promo Codes tab.
Click + Add Promo Code.
This opens the promo code creation form.
Step-by-step: Creating a Promo Code
1. Choose Promotion Type
You have two options:
Multi-use promo code
One code that can be used multiple times by multiple people.
Example: EARLYBIRD25
One or more single-use promo codes
You can enter a list of unique codes, or generate multiple codes automatically.
Useful for distributing exclusive or personalized codes.
Fields available:
Manual entry: type codes separated by commas/spaces.
Generate codes: choose how many codes to auto-generate.
2. Promo Code & Description
Depending on your promotion type:
Multi-use
Promo Code – enter a single code.
Single-use
Single-Use Promo Codes – enter or generate multiple unique codes.
Additional field:
Promotion Description – short description shown to the user at checkout.
Optional:
Limit the number of times the promo code may be applied
(for multi-use only)
3. Apply To
Choose where the discount will be applied:
Option A: Total Transaction Amount
Discount is applied once to the whole cart.
Option B: Each Ticket
Discount is applied individually per matching ticket.
Under this option, choose:
All Ticket Types
Discount applies to every ticket in cart.
Specific Ticket Types
Choose tick boxes to apply discount only to selected ticket types
(shows a full list of events & ticket types, as visible in your screenshots).
4. Discount Value
Choose the type of discount:
Fixed Amount
Enter a flat discount amount (e.g., ₹100 off).
Percent Value
Enter a percentage (e.g., 10% off).
You may also set a Limit Discount to cap the max discount per transaction.
5. Admin Notes (Admin Use Only)
Internal notes for admins; not shown to the buyer.
6. Terms and Conditions
This text appears in the cart when users apply the promo code.
You can specify restrictions, usage details, etc.
7. Advanced Settings
Set Promotion Threshold
Allows the promo code to work only when the transaction total is within a certain range:
Min amount
Max amount
Restrict Validity Period
Set a validity window for the promo code:
From – starting time/date
Until – end time/date (or forever)
Publish Promo Codes
Let viewers discover the promo code directly on the checkout page:
Enable "Publish this promo code and its description"
→ Promo code becomes publicly visible to all buyers.
8. Save your Promo Code
Click Create to activate your promo code.
It will appear under:
Enabled
Disabled
All
You can click on a promo code anytime to edit, disable, or delete it.
How buyers use Promo Codes
At checkout, buyers enter the promo code in the Discount field.
Eligible discounts are immediately applied.
Published promo codes appear automatically at checkout.
