There are two ways to check in attendees on Tikkl:
Using the Tikkl Check-in App (Recommended)
Manual check-in using a roster
We strongly recommend using the Tikkl Check-in App. It is fast, prevents duplicate entries, and allows multiple ushers to check in attendees at the same time.
Method 1: Using the Tikkl Check-in App (Recommended)
The Tikkl Check-in App allows you to scan QR codes on printed or mobile tickets to check in attendees.
How to get started
Find the Event Access Code in your Event Campaign Dashboard → Ticket Check-In section and share it with your ushers.
Each usher can enter this code in the Tikkl Check-in App to download the event tickets and begin scanning attendees.
For detailed instructions, see: How to Use the Tikkl Check-in Mobile App?
Method 2: Manual Check-in Using a Roster
If you prefer to check in attendees manually, you can create a roster using the Ticket Sales Report.
Download the Attendee Report
Go to your Campaign Admin Panel → Reports and download the Ticket Sales Report.
Step 2: Prepare a check-in list
Open the report in a spreadsheet application such as Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or Apple Numbers.
The roster must include only attendees for the specific event you are checking in. If the report contains multiple events or sessions, sort by Event Date and filter the rows for the event being managed before creating the roster.
You may then remove unnecessary columns and keep only the fields useful for check-in:
First Name
Last Name
Email (optional)
Phone (optional)
Ticket Type
Order Date
Sort the list by Last Name and then First Name so ushers can quickly locate attendees.
The Email or Phone fields are optional, but they can help resolve conflicts if multiple attendees have the same name.
This list can then be used as a manual check-in roster at the event entrance.
Preparing Your Check-in Team
Before the event:
Ask ushers to download the Tikkl Check-in App
Share the Event Access Code
Have ushers download tickets before arriving at the venue
Test scanning tickets to ensure everything works properly
It is also helpful to designate one usher to handle complex situations, such as: Attendees without tickets, group check-ins, door purchases and any issue that slows down the entry line
Internet Connectivity
The check-in app can function without internet access by pre-loading the tickets.
However, internet connectivity is recommended because it:
Syncs check-in status across devices
Prevents duplicate check-ins across multiple gates
Automatically downloads new tickets
How to Manage Multiple Ticket Verifications
Single Event Tickets
The Tikkl Check-in app can be used to check-in each ticket once per event. After a ticket has been successfully scanned, subsequent scans will show an error indicating a duplicate scan.
For events where attendees may leave and re-enter the venue, we recommend that manage repeat access with registration badges, wristbands, hand stamps, or coupons so staff can quickly identify attendees who have already checked in.
Combo Tickets (Multi-Event Access)
The Tikkl Check-in app supports combo tickets that provide access to multiple events or event days.
A combo ticket contains a single QR code and can be scanned once for each event it is valid for.
For example, a festival combo ticket for Day 1 and Day 2 can be scanned once on both days.
Coupons (Meals, Drinks, Special Access)
To manage one-time entitlements such as meals, drinks, merchandise, or special access areas, we recommend using physical coupons that are handed when the guest checks in. Example:
Meal coupons
Drink coupons
Merchandise coupons
Special access passes
This keeps the ticket check-in process focused on event entry, while coupons are used to manage other one-time benefits during the event.
